Kalika
Yap - CEO | kalika@citrusstudios.comNative of Honolulu. Founder and CEO of the web design firm, Citrus Studios.
After graduating from NYU with a degree in journalism, Kalika worked for several media firms including Bloomberg & CNBC.
Kalika started her web career in 1996 at the Los Angeles Culture Net, a collaborative initiative project of the Getty Information Institute and California Culture Net. There she helped develop web curriculum, web site design workshops for individual artists, non-profits, art & educational institutions and students K-12.
She later moved to the J. Paul Getty Trust as a Web Developer as part of the Getty’s Web Services division of the Information Technology Services Department. There, she helped manage and develop the main Getty web site (www.getty.edu) and five separate Getty institution web sites including: the Museum, the Grant Program, the Getty Research Institute, Getty Information Institute, and the Getty Education Institute.
Kalika has been featured on CNN and was a web design columnist for Silicon Salley.
Kalika is an avid runner and has completed seven marathons in Los Angeles, New York and Long Beach. Kalika dances Hula, practices calligraphy, and makes fabulous collages and scrapbooks.
Kalika loves letterpressed notecards & stationery, scented coconut pineapple candles, citrus smoothies & reading.
Kalika received this year's Rising Star Award from the National Association of Women Business Owners. The awards ceremony also featured a short video on Kalika.

Graduated from UCLA with a degree in Marine Biology and later received training in graphic design from UCLA and Otis College of Art and Design. Spends his free time playing the Blues, working on his cars, watching the Food Network and riding a plank of wood with plastic wheels. Still waiting to win the lottery. Julie holds Bachelor of Science degrees in both computer information systems and graphic design. She has worked as a web editor, an illustrator for a Hollywood-based fashion designer, and as an in-house graphic designer for a book publisher and a high-end children's fashion designer. Julie is a bookworm who also loves hiking with her two dogs. Julie is a graduate of the Art Institute of California.

Someday she would like to pursue a Master's degree in Printmaking or attend a mighty fine culinary school. In her spare time, she enjoys experimenting in the kitchen, biking and hiking around the mountains of Santa Monica.

Ruben has seven years experience working as a project manager, web designer & developer in the advertising, museum, spa, and medical technologies industry. His experience in design and development helps streamline communication between client and the design team. Ruben enjoys golfing, singing karaoke and playing guitar for his wife and kids. He studied Communications at University of California, Santa Barbara.

Jason has eight years of experience as a web developer, having worked on projects for clients including Disney Internet Group, Fox Reality, FX Networks, Honda, Microsoft, NBC Universal, The Greatful Dead, and Virgin Atlantic. He is an expert in all aspects of digital video encoding, transport, and distribution systems across digital, Internet and cable television. Jason also has programming experience in PHP, SQL, JavaScript, XHTML, DHTML, CSS, XML, XSLT, and DOM, as well as database and server administration. Jason graduated with honors from the University of Luton, Bedfordshire, UK.

Ramon has over fourteen years of experience as a software engineer, with expertise in developing distributed multi-tier applications, designing and developing GUI applications using client/server architecture with Microsoft Visual Basic 5.0, MS ACCESS, MS SQL Server, and SQL Anywhere 5.0. He is also experienced in Oracle PL/SQL and Oracle 8i databases and database design, including data modeling, data mining, and data warehousing. Ramon earned his Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Cebu, Philippines and has done coursework in management at UCLA.

Sarah graduated from the University of Texas at Austin, with a degree in theatre and dance. She spent years teaching theatre, dance, comedy improv, and speech. She has received several choreography and directing awards. Having experience in front of and behind the camera, she got into the production world once moving to Los Angeles. Sarah not only handles all client relations for the company, but she is also our in house photographer and videographer. In her free time, Sarah enjoys riding her bike, tap dancing, taking photos, and traveling.
