Norton Simon Museum
The Norton Simon Museum, located in Pasadena, California, boasts one of the world's finest collections of European and Asian art. After relying for years on a non-responsive Web design firm for Web site updates, the Norton Simon contacted Citrus to recommend, install, and configure a content management system (CMS).After viewing CMS demos, Citrus and the Norton Simon selected the Ektron CMS400.Net application. Citrus then designed and integrated page templates that mirrored the site's existing designs. These templates works seamlessly with the Ektron application to allow non-technical Norton Simon staff to update sections of the site as needed. The Ektron implementation has provided the Norton Simon with enormous flexibility and control with respect to the organization's online presence.
With effective content management capabilities in place, Citrus was tasked with implementing a new image server to allow site visitors to browse and view (with image manipulation functionality) objects from the Museum's collection. Citrus is currently in the process of redesigning several portions of the Norton Simon site to improve access to information and overall aesthetics including the home page.
