Stanford Parker Library

Stanford University/Corpus Christi College Cambridge:
Parker Library on the Web

The Matthew Parker Library, housed at Corpus Christ College Cambridge, boasts a collection of over 600 medieval manuscripts. Collectively, these manuscripts represent some of the oldest works written in the English language, as well as some of the oldest extant examples of English art. The collection is—quite literally—peerless. Corpus Christi is working in conjunction with Stanford University to produce and publish online high-resolution digital copies of approximately 175,000 pages from the Parker collection. In a competitive bidding process, Citrus was selected to provide all design elements for the project.

Citrus is creating branding to represent Parker on the Web, and is developing graphic and information design templates for all site pages. In March, a Citrus team traveled to Cambridge to experience this venerable institution in person, and to gather ideas for conveying online its centuries-old beauty and traditions.

When completed, the interactive Web application will enable scholars and students—as well as the general public—to search for and view the Parker manuscripts, and access various metadata and secondary materials related to them. Citrus' information and graphic design elements will play a key role in helping visitors navigate the site and understand its content.
